Yerevan is the capital and largest city of Armenia as well as one of the world's oldest continuously inhabited cities. It’s one of the three hubs of the South Caucasus and is home to over a million people - the largest Armenian community in the world.
The history of Yerevan dates back to the 8th century BC, with the founding of the fortress of Erebuni in 782 BC by king Argishti I at the western extreme of the Ararat plain. The city expanded rapidly during the 20th century as Armenia became part of the Soviet Union. With the growth of the economy of the country, Yerevan has been undergoing major transformation as many parts of the city have been the recipient of new construction since the early 2000s. In Soviet days Yerevan had already become known as the Pink City as much due to the colour of the tufa stone used for building as for the flamboyant spirit of her young population.

Course Feedback

"Yerevan is a beautiful city with fantastic people and lively nights (which you might not be able to enjoy if you've got a TP to prepare for or an assignment to hand in soon!). The centre is very neat and convenient to almost any facility you may be looking for, including a large supermarket and a variety of restaurants and exchange offices. The centre staff are quite helpful and the facilities are very decent. Every input session was planned down to the finest detail, and the tutors were simply the best. I remember one of them was trapped in an elevator for almost an hour one morning but was ready to teach at 9 AM almost unfazed and very professional."
