The Centre for Professional Development and Assessment (CPDA) is a member of The Anglo Mexican Foundation which has operated in Mexico since 1943 as a non-profit organisation providing English language teaching, exam preparation and administration, teacher training and cultural activities. The CPDA was established in 2014 and has continued the rich tradition of teacher training and development (both in service and pre service) and has been delivering CELTA courses since 2015. The CPDA offers the 5 week intensive programme as an alternative to the 4 week version with more preparation time for lesson planning, assignments, research and even some time to enjoy the city. We also offer the extensive CELTA which is offered on Saturdays over 12 weeks.
The CPDA is a dedicated and well equipped venue for CELTA in a historic building. We offer facilities such as a photocopier, printer and a library which are only for course participants and projectors in each room. We have classrooms solely for the use of CELTA and this includes teaching practice, preparation and input sessions. We offer consultation on Fridays on the five week course. We can also tailor and adapt the input timetable according to your training needs informed by current good practice and up to date approaches to English Language Teaching.
We are located in San Rafael which is in the heart of Mexico City. The neighbourhood is conveniently located and well linked by public transport with a wide variety of shops, markets, cafes and restaurants which are locally run and offer high quality and reasonably priced food and drink
Help with Employment
The market for language teaching in Mexico is strong and continually growing and this is a great place to start a teaching career. The CELTA is well known and respected in Mexico as a mark of quality training and The Anglo has an excellent reputation with a long tradition of being the first language school in Mexico.
We have job openings for successful candidates at our Anglo branches located in Mexico City and Queretaro and Puebla which has an attractive benefits package. The Anglo offers a bespoke mentoring program with ongoing developmental observations and feedback. This enables teachers to adapt to teaching our learners with confidence and there are opportunities for further professional development such as our tailor made Teacher Development Course and ultimately, DELTA modules with our career plan.
Our tutors are residents of Mexico City with international experience so are aware of alternative opportunities in the city and beyond and can advise as necessary on teaching work in bilingual primary and secondary schools, universities and language schools.
We can recommend temporary rentals within walking distance of The Anglo. The neighbourhood has a good range of AirBnBs and hostels to suit your needs. These are more affordable than other areas of the city such as Roma and Condesa yet are still within easy reach of these neighbourhoods . We can advise if the room is close to our premises and conveniently located.
Refunds will be considered in cases of medical or family emergencies.
