I enjoyed the course thoroughly. As someone with a teaching background in a content subject transitioning to English teaching, the learning was invaluable in terms of how to plan and structure lessons and how to make use of resources. The input sessions from the tutors in terms of English Language Teaching pedagogy was top tier. The support for lesson planning and feedback was detailed and personalised and the tutors genuinely want to support you to succeed as best you can. I left the course feeling ready to apply for jobs at top schools and language centres and quickly secured a job in Da Nang, my preferred location. If you're looking to up-skill and open doors in the world of English Language Teaching, I can't recommend this course enough!

I had a great experience on the course, the tutors were extremely supportive and professional, and they were able to make the course fun. The printing facilities could be improved. The students were lovely and I liked the location of the centre.

As you've probably read already, doing the CELTA course is tough but hugely gratifying, completely worthwhile. At Apollo in particular, you will find tutors who not only impart but also embody excellent teaching practice. The IT systems could do with updating, but otherwise I was extremely satisfied with how the course was delivered at Apollo.

I really enjoyed my time at CELTA HCMC and learnt so much more than I thought I would from both my tutors and peers. The tutors were incredible; they were professional and very attentive to their students. I learnt a lot from watching their teaching demonstrations. Their classes were interactive and engaging and I never would have imagined that language teaching could be so fun. The teaching practical component was probably the most useful part of the course. Immediately after we taught a lesson, we would receive immediate feedback from both our peers and tutors who observed our lessons. I appreciated the clear feedback our tutors gave us - they would point out specific points in the lessons where things went well, or where things went badly, and they made sure to give us detailed suggestions as to how we could do things better next time or how we could improve. I also really enjoyed the time spent with my tutorial group. I learnt a lot from watching my peers teach - they were incredibly creative and came up with ideas that I would never have thought of myself and by incorporating their ideas into my own lessons, I felt like I became a better teacher. I also really appreciate how encouraging and supportive my tutorial group was; when we faced problems with our own lesson plans, we would often sit together and bounce ideas off each other, or brainstorm solutions to various difficulties that arose. We celebrated each other's strengths and would cheer each other on when we felt they delivered a good lesson, and we would encourage/comfort each other when we felt we didn't do so well at a particular lesson as well as try to give constructive feedback to each other as to how we could improve. Overall, I really enjoyed my time at CELTA HCMC and I do feel more confident about being able to deliver an effective lesson to ESL learners after my time there.

It was a wonderful experience and I loved every bit of it. I learned so much however I also realized that there is still so much that I need to learn. Because of this, I'm now considering taking up more courses to keep improving. It was immensely beneficial that the course was focused on TPs instead of just focusing on theories. The input sessions were not just informative, they were also done in fun and communicative ways demonstrating the different frameworks of teaching. There was a lot of workload as expected but nothing that we couldn't handle, from my point of view. The instructors were also very supportive and guidance was provided especially in the first two weeks so the adjustment was smooth for me. The course also showed me the importance of teamwork -- our sub group worked well together and we made sure to connect our lessons so the flow of our TPs were smooth. I expected CELTA to be stressful and it was but I didn't expect to love it as much as I did.

In my opinion, the CELTA journey, although highly intensive and challenging, is richly rewarding. The one-month experience provided me with a plethora of valuable knowledge and skills that facilitated my further advancement as an English teacher. After the course, I feel that what I do, including planning lessons, giving instructions, monitoring, or managing resources, has become more systematic, purposeful, and effective. I was also thankful that my tutors were very supportive and dedicated during the course, guiding all trainees with their wealth of knowledge, experience, and skills. They always gave constructive feedback sensitively to acknowledge trainees' strengths and indicate areas that require further improvement. Despite the intensity of the course, the tutors made the experience much less stressful with their readiness to help and great sense of humor. Furthermore, my fellow trainees were highly approachable and helpful, so we had a very positive environment where we could comfortably liaise and collaborate to make our journey more enjoyable. Hence, if you want to become a better teacher, you should enroll in the CELTA course. <3

I've had an amazing experience with tangible, recognizable improvements in my skills from the course. It's well structured and designed so that the trainees have a compounded experience day by day. I was equally favored to have Mr. Jon, Mr. Bogdan, and Ms. Lise who brought vast experiences and support for constructive feedback. To sum up, an exciting course, with great tutors and a great chance to learn and make lifelong networks.

I took this course in May and have stayed in touch with several of my coursemates since. We are all in agreement that even though it could be challenging at times, it was absolutely worthwhile and has made us into much better teachers than we would have been without it. The tutors provided constructive feedback while always being very encouraging, the theory side that they delivered was engaging and genuinely useful (not always my experience with professional development courses!), and even several months later they have been happy to continue giving support with careers advice, and sometimes my general questions about living in Vietnam as a foreigner. The course administrator Minh is also excellent and the whole course feels very well organised, which is essential as there is a lot to fit in to a relatively short space of time. The building is located in a nice district of HCMC a short distance from the city centre, and the classrooms have all the modern equipment e.g. smart boards that you would expect. I really can't recommend this course highly enough to anyone who wants to be an EFL teacher, whether in Vietnam or elsewhere. It will give you a really good foundation for English language teaching as a career, and if you're new to the country it's a great way to meet people and get advice on the general EFL landscape here from people who actually know what they're talking about. It's also pretty good fun :) Definitely worth a couple of sleepless nights!

I learned a TON and I think that this course was well worth the value. The instructors kept it interesting and challenging! Definitely would recommend!!

The CELTA course has been a great experience for me! The tutors really support you every step of the way! Initially, I was worried about being able to pass as I've never taught before, besides a short period of tutoring, but I was able to quickly grow during the 1-month course and I'm even teaching in Vietnam a couple of months after receiving my CELTA certification! The tutors were the best part of the course for sure.

After changing my mind many times, I eventually decided to take the course. There are some overall comments on each of the factors contributing to the course below: 1. The tutors: both of the tutors have done a great job in providing candidates with sufficient knowledge (input sections) and constructive feedback after each TP, together with peers' feedback. This is of paramount importance because the teacher will know what their strengths and weaknesses are, which help them progress later on. 2. Administrative staff: Mr. Minh was of great help because he was the one who set up the classroom and was ready to give his hand when candidates had some problems with the photocopiers and electronic devices. The procedure in each stage during the course was conducted smoothly and clearly. 3. Location: the school is located quite near the city center, so those who live in the vicinity of the area can reach the school with ease, but traffic congestion is something to consider because this is a norm in Vietnam, so try to be on time especially on your TP days.

I highly recommend the course for anyone who is looking to become a certified teacher. We got to learn a lot in just one month, with the practical side of the real classes and students, and the sufficient amount of research for language and teaching we needed to do. I'd say the best thing about it was the tutors, Jon and Bogdan, who were really supportive and helpful. Despite the intensity of the course, they made it enjoyable and fun for the trainees. The staff and facility of the centre were great as well - we felt like we always got the support we needed. Amazing experience!

The course was well-administered overall. The structure had clearly been planned and students were given ample instructions on teaching practices and assignments. The tutors were very experienced in their roles and went out of their way to assist students without compromising their learning potential. I particularly appreciated being treated as a mature-age student and encouraged to be independent in my learning from the outset. Some of the course materials were either outdated in terms of their content, or not culturally suited to students from non-Western backgrounds. Perhaps students could be asked to adapt the materials to suit their students’ cultural backgrounds and this could be taken into account in the marking. I believe the integrity of the CELTA was upheld throughout the course with tutors making numerous references to the criteria required to pass the course. This was important to me and my fellow students in knowing we were studying for a recognised qualification from a high-ranking institute. I would not hesitate to recommend Apollo in HCMC.

While I was in the process of researching TEFL courses in Ho Chi Minh City, a friend recommended the CELTA. He told me it would be challenging, but that I wouldn't regret the experience. Now, after successfully completing the CELTA course with Apollo, I can confidently say that was the best advice I could have received! As someone with no prior teaching experience, I walked away from the CELTA with a range of classroom skills and preparation techniques that I'm now applying to my real-life classes. Although the course was certainly challenging, it was 100% worth it. Beginning on the first day of the CELTA, our instructors helped make everyone feel comfortable by encouraging collaboration and communication between tutors and other trainees. Our group bonded well and I made several close friendships during the course. Our tutors set clear expectations and I never felt lost or overwhelmed. We were supported throughout every step of the course and you could tell the tutors really cared about our progress -- they were committed not only to helping us complete the course but to making sure we felt confident and prepared to begin a career in teaching. Another great part about the CELTA was that our progress was clearly tracked throughout each week and even each day. I always knew exactly how I was doing in the course and it was so rewarding to see myself improve both in lesson planning and classroom skills between each practice lesson. Not only did we get to teach in front of real students -- who were amazing -- but we participated in extensive lesson-planning workshops and spent time learning and researching teaching methodology. I am now a full-time teacher in Vietnam and I couldn't be happier with my decision. After speaking to other teachers who completed generic TEFL programs, it seems the training and practice they received doesn't even come close to what Apollo's CELTA course provides. Please, please, please, if you are considering a teacher-training program in Vietnam (or anywhere else in the world), take the CELTA! You won't regret it.

The course was fast-paced and you need to stay on top of the work to be successful. As a native speaker, I should have been better prepared in terms of English grammar. An introduction to phonology would also have been worth completing prior to the course. Overall, an excellent course that I thoroughly enjoyed. I met some amazing people from all over the world who made my time in Ho Chi Minh City all the more memorable.

The CELTA program is extremely intense but the facilitators were both amazing and really knowledgeable and helpful. The guidance and support that I received was great and it made navigating the CELTA course achievable. I would strongly recommend doing your CELTA through Apollo.

Absolutely worth it. HCMC's CELTA helped hone and direct my few years of ELT experience and previous, shorter cert into something much sharper and more pointed. I'd do it all over if I could. Jon in particular is a blessing.

I highly recommend taking the CELTA course in Ho Chi Minh City. There were a few sleepless and late nights, some last-minute submissions, stress, panic, and a lot of energy drinks and coffee consumed. However, at the end of the course, I wished it would last longer because I have seen myself improve dramatically during those 5 weeks. I learned a lot from my tutors, the trainees, and mostly my own mistakes. The Celta course was extremely intense but it was worth all the money, effort, and time that I inveseted in it. I wish I have done it sooner.

CELTA is an intensive course but it is well-organized and professional

The tutors were very knowledgeable and insightful during the course. The administrative staff were also very quick and helpful in answering questions. It was an excellent course that thoroughly prepared me to be a EFL teacher.

Overall the experience was good. The level of difficulty increases at a rate which is extremely challenging but not beyond what I felt was necessary to get the most out of the course, well balanced and clearly thought out. The tutors are very supportive. Graeme and Michael have quite different characters which I felt was a huge asset to the learning process. Switching between the two tutors during the course helped me develop a broader perspective on my performance. Although the type of feedback given is consistent with both tutors, the way it is delivered varies, which really helps with reflection and adaptation. Graeme gives slightly less direct criticism, which early on really helped my confidence grow. Michael is far more direct which later in the course gave me a well needed push to improve on my action points (to be clear, this never felt unfair or harsh, it was always relevant and constructive). I honestly feel as though the way I was guided and helped throughout the course could not have been better. The only reason my rating for the facilities is not 5 stars is due to the wifi. There were frequently issues with the network which meant on many occasions I could not access resources needed to work on assignments and lessons plans. Time is the most important resource during the course, and when you have an hour free to work but don't have access to the internet, it can disrupt your productivity dramatically.

The experiences i have had during this course, have not only helped me develop professionally, but personally as well.

I really appreciated the help and guidance thr tutors gave. Everything went smoothly and I feel like I learned a lot. I also lived that the tutors both had very different styles in their approaches and how they grade and critiqued us. It gave a well balanced program.

The tutors were experienced and motivating. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The students were extremely engaged and understanding. I would highly recommend this place.

It was such a life-changing journey I had with both the tutors and other trainees. I am grateful to them for always motivating and listening to my problems and concerns. I learned a lot during the course, professionally and personally. It was my first time abroad and I don't speak Vietnamese. I’m quite sensitive and fainthearted and was really scared of every single person I met in the first week. After every teaching practice, in addition to feedback, the input sessions were overwhelming as I felt that everything I did in my TP was wrong. By the end of week two, I just wanted to give up. My fellow trainees and tutors were very supportive and motivated me saying I need to be more assertive and have confidence in myself which I really needed to hear at that point of time. I’m glad I did the course at IH Apollo. The staff members were really helpful as well. I’m happy and thankful for everything I gained through CELTA.

A very valuable experience.

The course was very productive, useful, effective, and fun even though bit hectic. The lessons and materials were very informative and they were presented very well by our best 2 mentors. I was glad for being part of the course and proud of passing the course although I expected to get the higher grade.

This was, by far, the most intense, demanding and rewarding education/certification I've taken. What was good was the very little directives given by the instructors.
