With over 50 years' experience in teaching, and the first established CELTA Teacher Training Centre in Scotland, Basil Paterson has a long tradition of academic excellence and remains dedicated to empowering each new teacher through their training and development.
Our experienced and well qualified team of Cambridge accredited CELTA Teacher Trainers work hard to ensure that you receive a high level of academic and vocational training, tuition, support, nurture and care.
We believe that learning happens by doing and so our face to face intensive courses have you teaching real language learners from day one of the course!
We know that choosing the right CELTA centre is an important decision for you so if you would like to train with us in in the heart of Edinburgh's historic New Town, we would be delighted to hear from you and to help guide you through our application process.
Help with Employment
The CELTA course contains a thorough professional development and job seeking advice input seminar in the latter weeks of the course.
As we are in the heart of Edinburgh we are very informed and up to date with local Scottish and UK markets. We also regularly have visiting trainers who extensively travel and work in foreign markets and who are happy to share their advice.
We at Basil Paterson College are passionate about making your stay in Edinburgh as enjoyable as possible. For this reason, the school has a dedicated Accommodation department, whose job it is to find you safe and comfortable accommodation within easy reach of the city centre. Whether you decide to stay with a local host family, in an apartment, or in a hotel or guesthouse, we are happy to help you find the best option and to help deal with reservations.
You can select from a variety of options including half-board homestay with a family, summer university residency accommodation, private apartments for rent and hotels and guesthouses.
