The course was one of the best, with committed tutors, flexible timing, and organized work. It was a bit challenging for me as a teacher to cope with the course requirements, but when I got my certificate and started implementing all the skills I learned in the course, I forgot about everything. It's really worth it!

I would say that I was lucky to grab the CELTA course chance as a bilingual English teacher over the past 20 years. Being enrolled in the team with such amazing tutors; Ellen and Catherine, gave me a feeling that I was a really new born teacher who strokes in the field. I grew more confident right after this experience. I am proud of myself now. I could see the difference between what I used to be as a regular teacher to what I am able to do after CELTA. Ellen and Catherine, the team work as well as the learners, all, generated a vivid attractive atmosphere that supported our progress ahead. I am truly satisfied with my CELTA experience at ES Dubai. My pre-conceived reservations before taking up the CELTA course were answered at the end of it. My expectations were met. Schedules were well-planned and communicated through the course timetable. The slots set for each of the sessions like Input, lesson observations, feedback and TP accounted for daily routines which went with clockwork precision. Through the input sessions, I got very useful insights to the various aspects of the course. Not only did the sessions have valuable inputs being provided by the tutors but also some handy materials shared with us. The focus on lesson planning, lesson shapes, the use of ICQ’s & CCQ’s, the tips on teaching the target language were some of the areas covered and I am truly benefitted by all the information shared. The tutors were very experienced and delivered the course in a professional manner, considering all the practical nitty-gritties of teaching English Language. For me, the various situations I found myself in during the course were great learning experiences. For one, the opportunity provided to teach two different levels of learners- upper, pre-intermediate- was a wonderful extension to my learning curve. The feedback provided by the tutors after TP’s were quite detailed and educative and I was able to identify my strengths and improvement areas. There could have been more clarity to instructions for assignment tasks at times, but otherwise the observations recorded and communicated by tutors, for the various assignments, were genuinely helpful. The materials to teach were in place and easily accessible and the schedules well-spaced out to accommodate the teachers’ needs.

I learnt a lot of teaching strategies and it helped me to reflect on my practices and gather feedback to improve. I loved the overall experience of the course including building lasting relationships with my tutors,peers and we got a chance to train international students and implement what we learnt. We implemented the feedback and still apply that while we teach today and it has been an enriching experience. I loved the self discovery task and since we did the online course and we are teaching online, it is an amazing experience to apply all those learnings we picked up from our trainers including the way they would conduct the class,specific tasks,games etc.The memories of the CELTA course will always be etched in my heart.

The course was highly beneficial for us. The input sessions were extremely informative. They helped us learn everything about modern 20th century classroom teaching and classroom management. We learnt conducting student-centred lessons, the different rubrics that a lesson can fit into depending on the lesson aims, the kind of tasks appropriate for each stage of a lesson, and so on. Tutors were extremely helpful and supportive throughout the course. The lessons they taught were very informative and beneficial for our development as teachers. The feedback from the tutors after every Teaching Practice helped us focus on our weaknesses and also stick to our strengths. Teaching Practices fueled our learning process. We practised what we received in the input sessions starting from making a good lesson-plan, to making an effective Language Analysis Sheet, to successfully delivering our lessons to a batch of students. Also, teaching two different levels of students, involved adjusting our lesson plans, and grading our language appropriate for the students.

I've had a wonderful time, learnt a lot and surely will come back to complete some of their other courses at the center
