CELTA - Cambridge English Language Assessment's Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults is one of the world's foremost initial qualifications for people who wish to become professional teachers of English language. It is accepted throughout the world by organisations which employ English language teachers.
Cambridge English Language Assessment works with international ELT organisations to ensure the acceptance of Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults (CELTA) globally. According to Cambridge English Language Assessment more than 10,000 candidates complete a Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults (CELTA) course each year.
The Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults (CELTA) course will be your passport into TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language.
ELT (English Language Teaching) was once commonly referred to as TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) but there was never a qualification known as TEFL.
The Cambridge CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults) is the most widely accepted initial teaching qualification.
CELTA candidates come from all walks of life. Many are recent university graduates, but others are already qualified as teachers of other subjects or are professionals in other fields looking for a change of career or a career break.
Most candidates see CELTA as the starting point of a long-term career in English Language Teaching (ELT). CELTA is suitable for those who wish to work in the field of ELT either within or outside their own country. Some candidates may have a short-term motive for teaching English and enrol on a CELTA course to gain the confidence and skills to teach English professionally.
CELTA is also suitable for students working on gap year programmes which include teaching English to adults.
Applicants do not need to have English as their first language, but must have a standard of English which will enable them to teach at a range of levels.
There is now quite a well-established career structure within the field in the UK. As a newly qualified teacher, you might consider looking for a job which will provide you with support for two to three years then consider taking the next-level qualification DELTA (Diploma in English Language Teaching to Adults). After this, you might think about moving into teacher support in the role of senior teacher. After gaining some more experience, many teachers go on to do an MA in ELT before moving into teacher training or ELT management.

The residence is also designed to enhance every student’s study experience, with a focus on comfortable living, the study environment and social spaces. The residence offers a free shuttle-bus service to ES Dubai every day, as well as free transportation to key locations in Dubai.
Cancellation
ES Training DMCC defines a full course of study as the initial enrolment period. Extensions are considered
new enrolment periods. All refunds will be sent to the account of the ES representative to whom the fees
were originally paid, or to the individual from whom ES has received the original direct payment.
If a student’s visa application is rejected after payment has been received, all fees, excluding any visa fees
and non-refundable fees detailed in the Cancellation Policy below will be refunded within 30 working days.
Refunds will be processed according to these terms and conditions.
Cancellation policy
ES Training DMCC defines “cancellation” as a change occurring before the start date of the first course. All
cancellations must be made in writing to our admissions office and the following refund policies apply:
Enrolment Fees, Courier Fees, Visa Fees, Administration Fees and Third-party fees (agent commission) are
non-refundable.
• Course refunds before arrival
Where cancellations are received in writing more than 14 days before the first-course start date, 100% of
tuition fees will be refunded, except any non-refundable fees as listed above.
• Accommodation refunds before arrival
a) Students cancelling their accommodation less than 14 days before arrival will be charged an amount
equal to 1 week of accommodation.
b) For cancellations less than 48 hours before arrival, an amount equivalent to 2 weeks of accommodation
will be charged.
Withdrawal policy
ES Training DMCC defines withdrawal as the termination of a course after the course has started. Any
withdrawal must be made in writing to the School Director, in order to arrange all relevant visa issues and
cancellations in time before the student’s last day. No tuition fees will be refunded to students who notify
ES Training DMCC of their withdrawal after the commencement of their course. Furthermore, courses are
neither transferable nor exchangeable for other services such as accommodation and social activities and
withdrawals have a no refund policy.
Course deferral
• Students who are unable to complete their course due to extenuating circumstances will be offered the
option of deferring the remainder of their course for a period of up to 6 months. In this case, the remaining
weeks of study will be placed on hold at no extra cost. Any new visa-related fees will be payable by the
student.
• No deferral option is given to students who are expelled from the school for disciplinary reasons.

The course was one of the best, with committed tutors, flexible timing, and organized work. It was a bit challenging for me as a teacher to cope with the course requirements, but when I got my certificate and started implementing all the skills I learned in the course, I forgot about everything. It's really worth it!
I would say that I was lucky to grab the CELTA course chance as a bilingual English teacher over the past 20 years. I am truly satisfied with my CELTA experience at ES Dubai. My pre-conceived reservations before taking up the CELTA course were answered at the end of it. My expectations were met. Schedules were well-planned and communicated through the course timetable. The slots set for each of the sessions like Input, lesson observations, feedback and TP accounted for daily routines which went with clockwork precision. Through the input sessions, I got very useful insights to the various aspects of the course. Not only did the sessions have valuable inputs being provided by the tutors but also some handy materials shared with us. The focus on lesson planning, lesson shapes, the use of ICQ’s & CCQ’s, the tips on teaching the target language were some of the areas covered and I am truly benefitted by all the information shared. The tutors were very experienced and delivered the course in a professional manner, considering all the practical nitty-gritties of teaching English Language. For me, the various situations I found myself in during the course were great learning experiences. For one, the opportunity provided to teach two different levels of learners- upper, pre-intermediate- was a wonderful extension to my learning curve. The feedback provided by the tutors after TP’s were quite detailed and educative and I was able to identify my strengths and improvement areas. There could have been more clarity to instructions for assignment tasks at times, but otherwise the observations recorded and communicated by tutors, for the various assignments, were genuinely helpful. The materials to teach were in place and easily accessible and the schedules well-spaced out to accommodate the teachers’ needs.
