Along with the importance we place on delivering quality, affordable training– something we’ve been doing for over 30 years. And if you do a course with us, you can count on a lifetime of support in pursuing your career in TEFL. Budapest is a beautiful, fascinating and exceedingly 'liveable' city, a great place to do the CELTA.
Note that we regularly offer significant discounts (50-100 GBP off) for Early Bird applicants.
Help with Employment
We endeavour to provide support to trainees in finding a suitable teaching position, whether they choose to stay in Hungary or are interested in working somewhere abroad. There is an input session on the course that specifically addresses finding and keeping a job within TEFL. Information is given on the local teaching context, local schools, the best websites to consult when looking for work internationally, considerations when preparing for an interview and so on. The tutors will act as referees for you in your search for work after the course.
We’re happy to arrange accommodation for you in a comfortable 1 or 2 bedroom flat within a short distance from the school, either on foot or via Budapest’s excellent, and relatively cheap, public transport. Each flat is equipped with wireless internet, a washing machine, and in many cases other appliances such as a microwave, a dishwasher, etc. If you request a share, you would most likely be sharing with someone else on the same course as you. Flats cost 100.000 Ft per person in a share, 140.000 Ft for a single, including utilities, for a four-week period.
Candidates who withdraw from the course after making payment will be reimbursed the course fee minus the deposit and bank (transfer) costs if they notify IH Budapest Teacher Training in writing (via email) more than three weeks before the course start date. After that time the course fee is non-refundable.
Budapest, capital of Hungary, is one of those places where people go for a month or two and find themselves still here years later. It seems to be due to a combination of factors—the gorgeous architecture; the stunning tableau of the Danube slicing the city into its two main parts of Buda and Pest; the vibrant night life and day life; the proximity of nature, via the Buda Hills; and the simple fact that Budapest is an exceedingly liveable, comfortable city where everyone seems to find a niche that suits them perfectly.
