Although I already had several years of teaching experience and a master’s degree in the field, I chose to take this course to refine my skills and become a more effective teacher. Jon and Lise’s constructive feedback and thoughtful guidance helped me do exactly that. My biggest takeaway is the importance of being purposeful and thinking critically when planning lessons and activities. Every decision needs a clear intention and should help students move toward their goals. The course is extremely intensive, so you really do need to put other responsibilities aside to focus and complete it successfully.

During my time at Apollo Education & Training, I gained hands-on experience in a diverse, fast-paced teaching environment. I had an incredible time doing my CELTA and the tutors and other trainees became my Vietnamese family whilst I was there. Even though I have a degree in teaching, I learnt so much during the CELTA in such a short space of time. Both of the tutors (Jon and Lise) were absolutely amazing. They're extremely experienced and helped us throughout the entire course. I'm sad that my time training has finished but the CELTA's given me the skills and experience needed to go out and teach English to adults and/or children.

The course was very in depth and I've learned a lot. I feel ready to get started on my teaching journey.
